Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation
Nisreen Qatamish is a visionary leader in the development sector in Jordan. As the Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) since 2016, Nisreen leads the Foundation's efforts to combat cancer and positively impact the lives of underprivileged cancer patients (including refugees). Under her leadership, KHCF actively works to protect the rights of all patients to obtain comprehensive treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) through fundraising, local and international lobbying, and pioneering initiatives such as the Cancer Care Insurance Program.
Nisreen previously served as the Executive Director of the Jordan Breast Cancer Program, through which she worked to empower women and highlight breast cancer as a national development issue that impacts all members of society. She managed several remarkably successful national campaigns, as demonstrated by the tangible increase of early detection rates, thus saving the lives of many women. Her efforts have also left a regional impact through the launch of unified regional breast cancer awareness campaigns.
Nisreen is an active member on a number of boards and national committees, including: the Jordan Breast Cancer Program Board of Directors, the Medical Tourism Board of Trustees, the National Committee for the Organization and Standardization of the Health Sector, the Public Health Forum, and the Business and Professional Women Association.
She has also presented several scientific publications, including the "National Breast Cancer Health Strategy 2013-2016", and has made significant contributions in capacity building within the healthcare industry, mobilizing efforts, and change management.
